Warith Al-Anbiyaa University Hosts Workshops for the International “Khatwa” Photography Competition

In the presence of a distinguished group of Arab and international photographers, Warith Al-Anbiyaa University hosted the workshops of the International “Khatwa” Photography Competition, organised by the Media Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. The event witnessed broad participation, with 1,600 photographers from 59 Arab and foreign countries submitting a total of 4,250 photographic works.

The workshops aimed to develop participants’ artistic skills and promote a culture of visual creativity through a range of artistic and humanitarian themes, including the documentation of the Arbaeen pilgrimage as a global humanitarian event reflecting the values of solidarity and peaceful coexistence. These activities are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through supporting cultural and artistic education and developing creative skills; Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through documenting cultural and humanitarian heritage; and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening cooperation among academic, cultural, and media institutions at both local and international levels.

The University affirmed that hosting such international artistic activities reflects its commitment to its academic and cultural role in supporting the visual arts, encouraging global cultural dialogue, and highlighting shared human values, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development and enhancing the standing of Warith Al-Anbiyaa University as an active scientific and cultural centre.
