The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Receives Ministerial Committee to Review Student Accommodation and Enhance the Residential Environment





The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa received the ministerial committee responsible for overseeing student accommodation in universities. The visit aimed to assess the current state of university housing and to review the standard of services provided to students.
The visit was conducted under the supervision of the Department of Student Accommodation Affairs within the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority. The committee met with the University’s Administrative and Academic Assistants and discussed mechanisms for developing the infrastructure of the student residences, as well as ways to enhance the quality of services offered to students.
The programme included a site visit to the student accommodation building and a review of progress on the ongoing development project. The committee examined completion rates and evaluated measures to ensure the provision of a safe and suitable residential environment that supports students’ academic stability.
This visit forms part of the University’s commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, it advances Goal 4: Quality Education, by providing a supportive educational and residential environment that promotes academic attainment. The College of Islamic Sciences Launches the Second Edition of Its Qur’anic Project “Words of Light”








The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has announced the launch of the second edition of its Qur’anic project, “Words of Light.” The initiative seeks to strengthen engagement with the Holy Qur’an and to promote Qur’anic culture within the university environment. It is grounded in an integrated academic and educational vision.
The project is open to the University’s students, academic staff, and employees. It proceeds through several organised stages. These begin with the opening of registration, followed by the distribution of designated Qur’anic sheets to participants. The final stage involves the submission of completed written work in accordance with a specified timetable. This structure ensures orderly participation and supports the project’s educational and formative objectives.
The launch of the project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, it reflects Goal 4: Quality Education, through the promotion of value-based learning and the strengthening of intellectual culture. It also supports Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by fostering ethical values and cultural awareness within the university community.

The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa organised a specialised scientific seminar entitled “Oil and Gas Between the Challenges of Global Warming and Sustainability Requirements”, examining the future of the energy sector in light of global climate challenges and the accelerating transition towards more sustainable energy systems.
The seminar was delivered by Dr Amer Al-Wazzan from Dragon Oil, who presented scientific perspectives on carbon emissions reduction strategies and emphasised the role of technological innovation in advancing the oil and gas industry in line with environmental sustainability requirements and the global energy transition.
This event reaffirms the University’s commitment to promoting scientific awareness of energy and environmental issues, and to supporting research and academic dialogue on the transition towards a low-carbon economy. Scientific Cooperation Agreement between University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa and University of Anbar to Strengthen Research and Advance Computer Science Programs

As part of its ongoing commitment to academic openness and the expansion of scientific collaboration with Iraqi universities, the Deanship of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has signed a joint scientific cooperation agreement with its counterpart at the University of Anbar.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa by Assistant Professor Dr. Hayder Al-Ghanimi, Dean of the College. Professor Dr. Salah Awad Salman signed on behalf of the University of Anbar. The signing reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening academic partnerships and promoting the exchange of scholarly expertise.
The agreement aims to promote the exchange of academic experience and the development of curricula and educational programs. It also seeks to enhance research collaboration in computer science and information technology. These efforts will support alignment with contemporary scientific developments. Warith Al-Anbiyaa University Celebrates the Receipt of a Handwritten Qur’an Manuscript Authored by Its Students and Faculty





University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa celebrated the receipt of a handwritten copy of the Holy Qur’an, to which its students, faculty members, and staff contributed. The official ceremony was held at the University’s Central Library and was attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayyawi, along with several college deans.
The manuscript was received from the Imam Hussein Shrine, represented by its Manuscripts Centre. This work represents the outcome of the “Words of Light” project, which was launched more than a year ago. University members participated by writing verses of the Holy Qur’an in their own handwriting, in an academic and cultural initiative that reflected devotion to the Qur’an and highlighted the preservation of calligraphic arts and Islamic heritage.
This project reflects the University’s role in supporting cultural and intellectual initiatives. Acting Minister of Higher Education Chairs Senior Leadership Meeting and Emphasises Strengthening the Integrity of the Educational Process

The Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Hêlû Al-Askari, chaired a meeting of the Ministry’s senior leadership, emphasising the importance of strengthening institutional performance and enhancing integration in a manner that serves the quality of the educational process and the effectiveness of academic and scientific services provided to society.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr Al-Askari expressed his appreciation for being entrusted with the responsibility of administering the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, alongside his duties at the Ministry of Environment, in accordance with a Diwani Order issued by the Office of the Prime Minister.
The Acting Minister listened to the interventions of senior officials at the Ministry’s headquarters, stressing the need to enhance institutional effectiveness in light of ongoing digital transformation, strengthen adherence to quality assurance and academic accreditation indicators, support productive scientific research, and develop knowledge growth frameworks. The exhibition witnessed wide participation from students and entrepreneurs, alongside a number of innovative entrepreneurial projects.
The exhibition aims to provide a practical platform for showcasing students’ creative ideas and linking them with opportunities for investment and development, thereby contributing to transforming student initiatives into projects capable of implementation and growth in the labour market, and enhancing students’ readiness to integrate into the economic environment.

The program included an interactive segment titled “Write a Letter to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)” along with a Wishes Wall, marking the Sha‘baniyya birth anniversaries and embodying the meanings of loyalty and love for the Master of Martyrs. The university ranked first in the Athar Award for Sustainable Universities among 59 Iraqi universities, obtained Iraqi Institutional Accreditation, and achieved first place among private universities in Iraq in the Times Arab Universities Rankings 2026, along with second place in the Iraqi University Rankings at the private level, reflecting its commitment to SDG 4 (Quality Education).
It also entered the QS Sustainability Rankings for the first time, ranking third among Iraqi universities, and secured second place in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 among private universities, underscoring its focus on sustainability, innovation, and partnerships in line with SDG 9 and SDG 17.
At the level of colleges and academic departments, the Departments of Civil Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering Technologies, Biomedical Engineering, Quranic Sciences, and the College of Law ranked first in the Iraqi Classification of Scientific Departments across private and national rankings. In addition, the Department of Accounting and the College of Nursing achieved second place among private universities, supporting workforce development and economic growth in alignment with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Ranks First in the Iraqi Classification of Engineering Departments

The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (peace be upon him) has achieved a notable academic accomplishment as several departments of the College of Engineering secured leading positions in the Iraqi Classification of Scientific Departments, reflecting the university’s strong academic performance.
The Department of Biomedical Engineering ranked first among private universities and fifth among public universities, while the Department of Civil Engineering achieved first place at the private level and ninth among public universities. Moreover, the Department of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering Technologies ranked first nationwide among both public and private universities.
This achievement supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 on quality education, SDG 9 on innovation and infrastructure, and SDG 7 through advancing energy-efficient technologies, reinforcing the university’s role in contributing to sustainable development in Iraq.
