On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the Dean of the College honored Professor Dr. Mu'ayyad Al-Naqeeb at the university campus in recognition of his significant medical achievement: performing the first successful liver transplant in Iraq.
This honor comes in celebration of Dr. Al-Naqeeb's scientific and humanitarian efforts, which constituted an important step in the development of organ transplantation surgery in our beloved country and enhanced the standing of national expertise in this vital field.

Meeting of the Supporting Sciences Unit – College of Medicine / Warith Al-Anbiya University
The Supporting Sciences Unit at the College of Medicine held its periodic meeting, chaired by the Unit Director, Dr. Sabah Al-Jubouri, with the participation of Unit members: Assistant Lecturer Mustafa Jassim, Assistant Lecturer Ali Aziz, and Engineer Muhammad Baqir.
The meeting addressed the issue of updating the curricula to align with the requirements of modern education. Discussions focused on updating the curricula for Ba'ath Party crimes, human rights, Arabic language, computer science, and artificial intelligence, aiming to enhance students' knowledge and skills and elevate the educational process according to academic accreditation standards. Additionally, proposals to establish two new units were discussed:1- A unit for the care of students without a guardian

Scientific Cooperation Agreement between the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (PBUH) and the Royal College of Physicians/London-Iraq Network
In line with the strategic direction of the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (PBUH) towards academic openness and strengthening international scientific partnerships with prestigious institutions, and its commitment to developing medical education according to the latest international standards, the College of Medicine signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the Royal College of Physicians/London-Iraq Network, one of the leading networks specializing in promoting continuing medical education and raising the competence of physicians and academic staff in Iraq and the region.
The agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, Dean of the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (PBUH), representing the college, in the presence of Professor Dr. Hilal Al-Saffar, President of the Royal College of Physicians/London-Iraq Network, under the supervision of the President of the Royal College of Physicians, Professor Mumtaz Patel, and the Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Medicine, Dr. Amin Abdul Hassan Al-Alwani.

In the presence of Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Laith Mohammed Al-Husseini, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Anwar Al-Dahhan, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and the heads of the various departments, the esteemed College Council held its periodic meeting to discuss updating the College's vision, mission, and objectives to align with the continuous development in medical education and contribute to preparing a distinguished generation of physicians possessing competence, skill, and knowledge coupled with compassion and high moral character.

OSCE Exams at the College of Medicine – A Comprehensive Practical Application of Students' Clinical Skills
Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, Dean of the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University, the college conducted OSCE exams for fourth-year students in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Community Medicine. These exams are among the most important assessment stages in a medical student's journey, as they measure their ability to practically apply the clinical knowledge they have acquired during their previous years of study.
The exams were characterized by their high level of organization and the distribution of students across multiple clinical stations, carefully designed to cover various medical aspects—from taking a medical history and performing a physical examination to communication skills, diagnosing clinical cases, and managing time while interacting with patients.
A select group of faculty members from the college and physicians from teaching hospitals participated in supervising and evaluating the exams, thus enhancing the integration of academic and practical aspects and preparing students for the demands of real clinical practice. These exams aim to assess the student's overall competence in patient care, not only in theoretical knowledge but also in clinical reasoning and sound medical decision-making. This is a crucial step in the college's vision of preparing physicians who are scientifically, professionally, and ethically distinguished.
In a new development, this year saw the adoption of an electronic assessment system for the first time, using iPads equipped with digital checklists instead of traditional paper forms. This enabled a more accurate and immediate assessment process, enhancing transparency and expediting the electronic collection and analysis of results.
Scientific Recognition for a Medical Student After His Observation Was Accepted by an International Publishing House
The Dean of the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (PBUH), Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, honored student Jaafar Ibrahim Dakhil Matar, presenting him with a letter of thanks and appreciation from the University President, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi, in addition to a financial reward in recognition of his distinguished scientific efforts. This honor came after the student sent an official letter to the international publishing house, Walters Kluwer, regarding a precise scientific observation in the book *Lippincott’s Illustrated Reviews: Pharmacology – 8th Edition*, concerning the description of MAOIs on pages 141 and 185.
The observation was accepted and its validity acknowledged by the publisher. This is a distinguished scientific achievement that reflects the competence of the medical students at Warith Al-Anbiya University (PBUH) and their commitment to accuracy and academic excellence.
🎀 Early Detection… Awareness Saves Lives
Under the patronage of the President of Warith Al-Anbiya University, Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Saadoun Al-Ghazi, the College held an awareness seminar entitled:
“Early Detection of Breast Cancer.” The seminar was presented by Dr. Raghad Numan Talib, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology and a faculty member at the College of Medicine.
The seminar addressed the importance of early detection and its role in reducing the incidence of the disease and its complications, in addition to methods of prevention and warning signs that necessitate a visit to a specialist.
Dr. Raghad also emphasized the necessity of spreading health awareness among women and girls to limit the spread of this disease and enhance the chances of early recovery.
This seminar is part of the College of Medicine's ongoing awareness programs to promote public health and disseminate a culture of early disease detection.
A training workshop on the Student Attendance Management Program was held as part of the Digital Transformation Project.
In line with the College of Medicine's directives towards digital transformation and the development of academic services, a training workshop entitled "Student Attendance Management Program in Classrooms, Laboratories, and Hospitals" was organized in cooperation with the Electronic Computing Center. The workshop, presented by Engineer Mustafa Jamal Saadoun, aimed to review the mechanism for using the new electronic system for recording student attendance via QR code instead of traditional paper methods. This contributes to facilitating attendance tracking and enhancing the accuracy and speed of academic reports. This event is part of a series of technical and developmental activities implemented by the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University in support of digital transformation plans and the use of technology in developing the university environment.

The Total Learning Behavior (TBL) exams for second and third-year students were conducted entirely electronically in an experience that fostered teamwork and active learning among students within smart classrooms.
Weekly electronic exams were also organized for fourth and fifth-year students as part of the college's plan to adopt continuous assessment using modern digital platforms.These steps were taken in cooperation with the university's Computer Center and the Digital Department at the College of Medicine, which provided comprehensive technical support to ensure a secure and stable digital examination environment.

A New Student Achievement for the Faculty of Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him) congratulates student Mujtaba Abdul-Razzaq Yass on completing an intensive 30-day training program in neurosurgery at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and its affiliated hospital, one of the most prestigious medical and academic centers in the region. The program included the student's participation in daily morning and clinical rotations, observing complex surgical procedures, participating in outpatient clinics, and attending lectures and scientific conferences with a select group of faculty members from the department. This achievement is a significant step in our students' journey to enhance their clinical experience and refine their practical skills within world-class educational environments, contributing to raising the profile of Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him) and the distinction of its students both locally and internationally.
Fifth-year medical students at Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him) took their OSCE + CIVA practical exams in the fields of orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, and diagnostic radiology, under the supervision of specialized examination committees.
This exam aims to assess the students' clinical and applied skills in various specialties, within the framework of modern medical education standards adopted by the college, in preparation for advanced clinical phases.
