University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Hosts Scientific Conference on World Diabetes Day to Promote Health Awareness

On Friday, 14 November 2025, the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa hosted a scientific conference on the World's Diabetes Day. The event was organised by the Iraqi Society of Clinical Chemistry in collaboration with the University’s College of Medicine and Al-Hassan Centre for Endocrinology and Diabetes, and sponsored by Al-Riyada Al-Arabiya Company, under the theme:
"Together for a Community Aware of Diabetes Health."

The conference was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr Ali Al-Ghazali, along with faculty members, specialised researchers from Iraq and abroad, and actively participating university students, reflecting the institution’s commitment to advancing academic and research development in the medical field.

The conference discussions focused on the latest approaches to early detection and prevention of diabetes, highlighting modern laboratory and therapeutic techniques in disease management. This scientific initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by raising community health awareness and reducing the prevalence of chronic diseases through evidence-based medical education. It also supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing medical students with practical scientific experience and enhancing their research skills in addressing key health challenges. Additionally, the ongoing scientific partnerships reflect the university’s alignment with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration among academic institutions, healthcare centres, and supporting companies to advance medical research.

This event underscores the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa’s dedication to strengthening its role as a leading educational institution serving the community, through health initiatives guided by a clear vision to elevate public health awareness.
