The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Shines Globally in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2026

The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has achieved a distinguished academic milestone by joining, for the first time, the QS World Sustainability Rankings 2026. This accomplishment places the University among only nine Iraqi institutions—public and private—featured in this prestigious international evaluation. According to the results, the University ranked second among private Iraqi universities and ninth among all participating Iraqi institutions, having met the required environmental and societal criteria adopted by the ranking.

This advancement serves as clear evidence of the University’s commitment to sustainable pathways, particularly through the enhancement of sustainability practices in infrastructure, energy management, and higher education. The achievement also reflects the University’s alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, notably (SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities) by adopting environmentally and socially conscious institutional policies; (SDG 13: Climate Action) through initiatives focused on energy management and reducing the carbon footprint of campus facilities; and (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by developing university infrastructure in ways that promote innovation and sustainable development.

It is noteworthy that the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa previously secured first place among Iraqi universities in the “Athar” Award for Sustainable Development, organised by the Ministry of Environment and Higher Education—further demonstrating the University’s strategic vision and steadfast commitment to advancing sustainable development in all its dimensions.
