University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa celebrated the receipt of a handwritten copy of the Holy Qur’an, to which its students, faculty members, and staff contributed. The official ceremony was held at the University’s Central Library and was attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayyawi, along with several college deans.
The manuscript was received from the Imam Hussein Shrine, represented by its Manuscripts Centre. This work represents the outcome of the “Words of Light” project, which was launched more than a year ago. University members participated by writing verses of the Holy Qur’an in their own handwriting, in an academic and cultural initiative that reflected devotion to the Qur’an and highlighted the preservation of calligraphic arts and Islamic heritage.
This project reflects the University’s role in supporting cultural and intellectual initiatives. It aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting cultural and intellectual learning, Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through the preservation of cultural heritage, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cooperation with religious and cultural institutions.
The University affirmed that this achievement reflects the academic and cultural engagement of its members and strengthens its commitment to initiatives that bring together knowledge, values, and heritage.
